Michelada Recipe – Cajun Style

My Cajun Michelada recipe! Try this hot mama at your next crawfish or crab boil. I live in Texas now, but am originally from Louisiana. This means for every recipe I come up with, I also have to create a Cajun version. I created this michelada recipe as a twist off of a Cajun Bloody Mary recipe. We will need to rim our glasses with Tony’s or Zatarain’s Cajun seasoning instead of salt for this one. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I’m just in the mood for something really spicy. If you aren’t, just use a little less Tabasco and go hang out with the women in the sewing room. Make sure you let me know what you think in the comments section below.

  • 1 Lime Juiced
  • 1/4 Tsp. Tony’s Seasoning (for the rim of your glass)
  • 3-4 Dashes of Tabasco
  • 2-3 Dashes of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 12 Oz. of your favorite beer
  • pickled okra for garnish
  • Ice

Cajun Michelada Recipe

  1. First, Rim your cold glass with Tony’s or Zatarain’s Seasoning. Then Fill your glass with ice. Next, Add your Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, and lime ( remember more or less if you like).
  2. Fill with your favorite light or amber beer.
  3. Finally, top it off with a pickled okra garnish, drink up and enjoy.

Michelada Clamato | How To Make A Michelada With Clamato

The Clamato Michelada is the staple go to recipe. I am not a very huge fan of tomato in my beer, but some folks are, so I thought I would include this recipe for all you weirdos out there. Clamato is a drink made with tomato juice, spices, and clam broth. If you like bloody beer you will love this version of michelada. If you don’t want to make your michelada with Clamato you can also make this recipe with tomato juice or any Bloody Mary mix of your choice. Zing-Zang is my favorite. This is a the best recipe for your hangovers. Do you ever get hangovers? It’s happened to me once or twice.

  1. First, salt the rim of a tall glass and fill the glass with ice. Next, add the Worcestershire Sauce, Soy Sauce, Tabasco Sauce, and lemon juice.
  2. Then pour in the Clamato juice. Top this off with your favorite beer and say goodbye to that hangover.

Mambo Michelada Recipe

Mambo Seafood is a restaurant that began in the Hispanic neighborhoods in Houston Texas. There is also now a location in Dallas. They serve both American and Latin seafood dishes. But I’m not here to talk about their food. Mambo has one of the best Michelada mixes I have ever tasted. I have not been able to find the mix to purchase online, but you can get it at any of their restaurants. What if you don’t live anywhere near a Mambo Seafood? I’ve got you covered. It took me about a year to match the awesome taste of a Mambo Michelada recipe and now I’m going to share it with you, just in time for summer.

INGREDIENTS

  • Your Favorite Beer (I like Pacifico or Carona)Mambo Michelada Recipe
  • 1 32-oz. bottle of Clamato (chilled) I like the Picante flavor
  • 1 cup lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-2 Tbsp. Tabasco
  • 1 Tbsp. Maggi Seasoning (or soy sauce)
  • 4 Tbsp. Salt (secret ingredient)
  • tajin Seasoning (garnish)
  • Lime wedges (garnish)

PREPARATION

  • Mix all of the ingredients except the beer in large pitcher.
  • Pour the Tajin Seasoning on a small plate.
  • Rub rims of pint glasses with lime wedge and dip them in salt mixture.
  • Fill glasses with ice, fill 1/2 with the Michelada mix, top with Beer, and garnish with a lime wedge.

  • Tajin chili lime salt
  • 3 Small Limes Juiced
  • 2-3 Dashes Jugo Maggi
  • 2-3 Dashes Salsa Inglesa
  • 2-3 Dashes Valentina Hot Sauce
  • 12oz. Mexican Beer
  1. First, Rim your glass with the Tajin seasoning.
  2. Then add ice, lime juice, Juggo Maggi, Salsa Inglesa, and Valentina.
  3. Finally pour in your favorite Mexican beer and enjoy.

Are you looking for a deliciously authentic Mexican Michelada recipe? Here is one I have found that they serve at a few Mexican restaurants in Killeen Texas. La Margaritas on Fort Hood Street has one of my favorite Michelada recipes. They have some pretty great food as well. Some of these ingredients might be hard to find, so if you don’t have a local Mexican grocery store you can always turn to Amazon.

  1. Run a lime around the top of a glass and rim with Tajin Seasoning.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the juice from 3 limes, 1 tbsp. of Chamoy, 1 tsp. of Tamarind concentrate and a couple of dashes of Valentino hot sauce and ice. 
  3. Pour this in a pint glass over ice and top with beer.
